Willow hey food growing group meet on Willow Hey Community Project to undertake all manner of food growing activities Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We manage 15 food growing beds, a greenhouse and a poly tunnel and additional tubs for food varieties. We start with seeds, do potting on and explore lots of organic food growing to help yield a wide range of locally grown food for the volunteers, participants and wider community beneficiaries as surplus foods goes to New Bury pantry, gets pickled and preserved, made into home made healthy meals for freezing to share on site all year round at the social eating project on Thursdays. We are an affiliate member of RHS Worsley Bridgewater Hall who donate seeds to our project.
