Below are extracts from a letter sent on behalf of Zac's and The Sycamore Project, thanking Bolton Green Umbrella for their recent donation to the community garden and community litter pickers:

Dear Barb,
I am just writing to thank you for your kind and generous donation of £200 from Bolton Green Umbrella. The donation was both encouraging and very much appreciated by all at The Sycamore Project. Please accept this letter as official confirmation of receipt.

In 2019 we have worked with hundreds of young people struggling with various issues including poverty, social isolation, substance abuse, physical/mental health issues, low confidence/self-esteem and much more. We worked with our young people on a grow-your-own vegetables project. Young people, staff and volunteers worked together to convert a piece of unused land at the rear of our premises. They created a space to grow their own veg, as well as looking at ways to maintain the area by installing a compost bin and watr butt.

Your generous donation from Bolton Green Umbrella will go towards our plans for a community vegetable garden at our other venue. Taking the idea from the vegetable garden at our Farnworth centre we will be working with young people to produce similar at our Prestolee centre, This location is in the heart of the community and we are hoping will be well received.

In 2020 we are also hoping to join forces with our local community litterpickers to work on areas that are unloved and littered, and showing our young people how to care for the environment whilst making our community a nicer place to live.

We have many other projects that we run across the south of Bolton (Farnworth, Kearsley and Little Lever). Please browse our website www.zacsyouthbar.co.uk

These will hopefully give you a greater insight into the work we do and the positive impact it is having upon young people in our town. I have also enclosed our new newsletter which will produced 4 times a year. If you wish to receive this by email please let us know by emailing getinvolved@zacsyouthbar.co.uk

We know there is a lot more work to be done but your kind contribution will help us continue the life-changing work we do with young people. Thank-you for helping us transform lives by supporting us in this worthy cause.
