HERA is a community group which meets with and emphasis on outdoor learning, this includes conservation tasks along with activities such as bush craft, outdoor cooking, pond dipping, bug hunting and mini beasts. Activities are suitable for all ages with instruction and guidance given to maximise the experience. All ages and abilities are welcome to take part with the emphasis on family involvement.
We meet Weekly on Fridays between 10.00 and 14.00.

Huge thanks for the BGU Grant.
How was the money spent?
Part of the money was used for educational equipment to enable a more efficient delivery of nature-based activities. The equipment consisted of wooden identification guides which have been simplified for use by young children with the aim of early engagement with their greenspaces. Several items of equipment were also purchased to enable tasks to be carried out on volunteer days.

With the assistance of BGU and the £200 donation from the High Street Clean-up fund we have been able to continue activities on Seven Acres on a twice weekly basis. We have undertaken several conservation tasks and been involved in a 'big litter pick' onsite making a difference for the parks users. The chief task has been the hedgelaying which not only provides a living barrier between the meadows and the river but also creates a valuable habitat for wildlife and a safe corridor for moveme More.....
