Kearsley In Bloom was created to celebrate the community we live in, bring together community groups, businesses, schools, local facilities and families to make our community safer. The Kearsley Ward of Bolton is situated south of the borough. It is made up of Kearsley, Stoneclough, Ringley and Prestolee.
A team of local people are working together to bring together everyone in our community. The Kearsley Festival Group that oversee Kearsley in Bloom was set up in 2015 after a group of local residents organised a very successful first Kearsley Scarecrow Festival. We wanted to go on to do other events in the area and change the way people looked after the community in which they lived.
The first ever Kearsley In Bloom took place from May to August 2016 and every year we are encourage local residents and businesses to decorate their homes and community with hanging baskets, flower tubs, garden displays. The Kearsley in Bloom project currently have 12 sets of 3 planter tubs around the area which are filled every year by local garden centre Giant Seat using funds gained from sources and also from events put on in the area.
We want to make our area a beautiful scene for people driving through or walking around. The Kearsley Festival Group have recently donated and installed benches in the community and continue to fundraise and strive to make our environment green, safe and beautiful.
