About us
What we do
Bolton Green Umbrella brings together volunteer and community groups across Bolton who care for the local environment. Promoting environmental stewardship whether it’s litter picking, gardening, growing, planting, outdoor conservation or simply keeping green spaces tidy and welcoming, we support the people who make Bolton better.
We help groups connect, share ideas, and access practical support:
- Building a network – Linking like-minded individuals and groups to share resources, ideas, and motivation.
- Restoring pride in local spaces – Supporting efforts to improve Local Nature Reserves, Country Parks, streets, parks, public areas and all other greenspaces, often in collaboration with Bolton Council, local businesses and like minded organisations.
- Providing practical support – Offering small grants, tools, guidance and advice to help groups thrive and stay visible.
- Celebrating volunteers – Recognising the work of local people who take action to care for their communities and green spaces.
If you’re part of a group, or thinking of starting one, we are here to help you get involved, stay organised and feel confident in what you do.
