We are very new setting up our group but we have had a great response. We want to introduce a team community leader that will introduce all things green like litter picking, growing fruit and vegetables delivered as part of a class, swap shops etc.ย

Below is our 5 core principles of what we will aim to shape the group into.ย

1. Belonging

Everyone is welcome.

No background, belief, struggle or story makes someone “too much” here.

You come as you are.

2. Respect

We listen without interrupting.

We speak without attacking.

We hold space without judgement.

Confidentiality and kindness are non-negotiable.

3. Growth

We don’t stay stuck.

Through movement, conversation and connection, we support each other in becoming stronger โ€” mentally, emotionally and physically.

4. Responsibility

BTC is a supportive community โ€” not therapy.

We encourage professional help where needed and protect the wellbeing of both members and organisers.

No one carries the weight alone.

5. Community Impact

We rise by lifting others.

Through walks, events and future give-backs, BTC aims to strengthen not just individuals, but the wider community too.

With more people joining, we just have to find the correct role for each volunteer. We want to be able to delegate a role based on the individuals interests and passions so when something is delivered, it’s delivered with love.ย

This group is about building a sober, empowering community where we can connect, grow and socialise without alcohol. Itโ€™s not about judgement. Itโ€™s not about forcing change. Itโ€™s about creating a healthier norm. Whether youโ€™re sober-curious, fully sober, or just want meaningful connection โ€” youโ€™re welcome here. A brew. A walk. A chat. Slow and steady growth. This is about breaking unhealthy cycles and building something better โ€” for ourselves and for future generations.
