Full Description:
Men in sheds is a constituted group open to men and women inclusive of all to come along and take part in activities, meet new friends, share skills and knowledge, support each other combating loneliness, having a set routine and a sense of belonging, commitment ownership and comradeship, increasing your own health and wellbeing or being sign-posted to other community providers.
By working on projects you would like to do or make, by being mentored / coached by or more experienced volunteers.
Working on projects either for yourself or for the community, activities tend to be wooden items made from recycled wood donated or collected by members. Projects for the wider community which we are currently doing – bookcases for the town’s Family Hubs. Under six early reading for children / community centre notice boards.
We currently share our community plot with Video Box Community growing group and Breightmet Butterflies group which are other community groups
To find us you go up the dirt track at the side of 6 New Lane to the shed.
