Full Description:
We were founded in 2014 by locals wanting to improve a run down park and since 2020 Longsight Park has had annual Community Green Flag awards, an international measure of care and since 214 The Millennium Wood has too.
We undertake general maintenance of litter, paths, benches , flower beds, Bradshaw Brook etc and public events in the park. We have in 2026 repurposed a disused part of the councils compound to create a disability accessible community garden and meeting space, called The Nest. We remove invasive non native species and plant with native wild flowers. We would love you to help. We do have Duke of Edinburgh students and we also work with Bolton Cares disability adults to improve the park. In addition to the park we help look after Bradshaw Meadows, The Millennium Wood and Harwood Vale. The area contains local nature reserve, site of biologic importance and Bolton’s arboretum. We are not insured for under 18 year olds, so they need an adult with them who acts as their guardian
