HAFWAY exists to help young people raise their aspirations, overcome their limitations and thrive despite the disadvantages that they face.
As a youth group we do litter picks, help with the railing planters on halliwell road and we are developing our planted containers outside the building we are in. We want to grow some fruit and veg if we can too.
We are in talks with the church about using some land as a forest school and growing area and we want to see if we can produce our own compost from our food waste using a Hot Bin composter to use for the planted containers we have and for the railing planters too.
According to our young people we are more than just a youth project; we are a family where all young people are welcome and included, no matter what. We run a wide range of projects and sessions as well as a focussed mentoring programme designed to help the individual needs of each young person. Our aim is to help young people know that they belong, help them believe in themselves and support them to become all that they can be.
