BGU were delighted to be awarded £25,000 of UKSPF (Shared Prosperity Funding) by Bolton Council. The funding was received in November 2023 and the programme completed at end of March 2024.
Click here to read our report on how the money was spent to improve and care for the environment across out town.
On Page 8 of the report is a list of the 68 voluntary groups who received a small grant of £200 to support them in their efforts, a total of £13,600. Click on the name of the group where highlighted and you can read the feedback they gave. These groups were also offered an extra – a packet of high quality 100% Native Wildflower Seeds, which most of them accepted with enthusiasm!
The rest of the report covers other projects which were supported such as Captains Clough, eradication of INNS (Invasive Non-native Species), and a brand new community allotment being set up in Tonge Moore.
Onward and upward …. we will soon be receiving the second payment of UKSPF (£50,000 in total over two years) for the period 2024/25, so will be contacting member groups about our plans for this year.
