Pitch for the planet/ECO Toolkit

Bolton Green Umbrella Wednesday 25 March 2026

The Bolton Eco Toolkit is a free, practical resource supporting Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Bolton to take meaningful action on environmental sustainability. It brings together simple tools, templates, guidance and local case studies to help organisations reduce their environmental impact, strengthen commissioning readiness and build confidence around climate action. Flexible, accessible and rooted in Bolton’s context, the Bolton Eco Toolkit helps the VCSE sector play an active role in creating a healthier, fairer and more sustainable future for people and place.

Pitch for the Planet starts with your ECO idea. VCSE organisations are invited to develop and submit a short proposal for a practical sustainability action. You might want funding to send your staff or volunteers on sustainability related training, buy some simple solutions to help you save energy, or you might want to run an event to showcase your eco-project and share your experience with others

Organisations will be invited to pitch their ideas at a friendly, public event, where everyone is welcome to attend, listen and vote. Grants of up to £750 are available to help turn the strongest ideas into action — supporting local organisations to start where they are and take meaningful environmental action together.

The Pitch for the Planet event takes place on 29th April 2026 at 6.00pm. You can submit your proposal using the link below and following that we will let you know if you have been shortlisted by our independent panel to pitch your eco idea at the event. The deadline for applications is midnight on 2nd April 2026.
