Hall I'th Wood In Bloom

Hall-ith-Wood Community and Environment Group | Monday 18 June 2018 | 0 Comments

As well as creating and maintaining the wonderful community garden on Hall I'th Wood estate the Hall-ith-Wood Community and Environment Group as hold four community events each year, one for each season.

Every spring is their In Bloom project, for which they provide a hanging basket of beautiful flowers and plants for every house on the estate. All the residents have to do is go along to the event and collect their basket, which is planted up for them. What a wonderful idea! One which other community garden groups may like to emulate! This year's In Bloom event took place on Saturday 2nd June and was, as always, a great success.

As well as the hanging baskets there were activities for children - a bouncy castle, colouring, competitions - plus numerous tents with other activities

At the end of the event volunteers were requested to do a litterpick, which many children joined in very enthusiastically, leaving the community garden spick and span again, and looking fantastic in its spring finery.
