BGU Grant 2024 Hulton Horticulturists

We cannot thank you enough for the grant which enabled us to do all this. We found the application process really easy.
I will send you more photos as the plants really begin to come on.
We bought plants for our Shopping Precinct Garden, troughs and hanging baskets. We got a grant for £200 and the total cost was £407.50
They have only just been planted but already our shopping precinct is looking superb. We have eleven hanging baskets which have been made up for us by Heaton Fold Garden Centre (Bolton Council run and all monies raised go to help people with special needs). We have put 200 primroses in the garden and troughs to augment the daffodils which come through each year.
We had some “debutant” volunteers working on the planting this year and they loved every minute of it. We laughed from start to finish – and it was pouring down! Passers-by and motorists were shouting to us all the time “well done” and “thank you”
Everyone is so proud of the garden and the baskets. It is a focal point of our community and gives everyone a real sense of civic responsibility.

Here are some of the comments posted on our Facebook page already – “Looking so nice...well done and thank u everyone for your efforts on our behalf...much appreciated”, “Looks gorgeous! Well done to you all”, “Thankyou for always doing this for our area”, “Well done & thanks guys for keeping our village looking good!!”
