Thank-you for the grant given to Smithills Community Alliance.
The funding will be spent to provide initial support for a community picnic event at Smithills Hall

The community event will be set in the grounds of Smithills Hall and will include walks by the Woodland Trust and other wildlife/woodland activities. The aim of the event is to get people out into nature so that they will better enjoy and protect it.

It is lovely that the volunteers have been given this award. We are at the beginning of setting up the Community Alliance and this grant award will give us more impetus to achieve our goal of bringing the community together.

The community will benefit by having a local outdoor event, especially since the idea for a summer event came from a community survey
