Many thanks for the BGU grant
We have purchased a large garden umbrella for shade and slabs to secure it. The amount remaining was left to purchase some plants
There are a number of residents who help out with the gardening, and we have a large table and chairs and bench for seating. However, we had no area for shade, as our old umbrella was old and broken. We have purchased the umbrella to provide some much needed shade, which will encourage more residents into the garden, as when the sun shines, it can get really hot and uncomfortable.
The volunteer residents in the scheme all feel valued and appreciated, as we only have a small scheme, and most residents use the garden at some point One of our residents has a tortoise, and he loves coming outside too. We love seeing the tortoise enjoying the garden.
More shade will encourage more residents to use the garden, as most older people appreciate some form of shade, as the sun can get too hot.

We have had good feedback from residents who are looking forward to getting back into the garden and enjoying the plants and seating areas.
