Thank you very much for the grant monies for Friends of Highfield.
The process for applying for the grants was extremely simple, which was very helpful and not time consuming.
We have purchased a grit bin and salt for Friends of Highfield. This has enabled residents to feel safe when driving on and off the estate ( Loweswater and Elterwater Rd) during icy conditions, in particular the elderly. Bulbs have been purchased for the numerous donated planters we now have in situ on the estate. Paint has also been purchased for the new fencing which was donated by a local resident.
Since setting up Friends of Highfield, I have been successful in bringing together residents from the private estate in working together to improve the green space. Residents now take pride in where they live and enjoy regular sessions where they work together on tasks such as fence painting, tree planting, bulb planting, mowing, strimming etc
