St Michael’s CEP Earth Group - April 2020 update
On Monday 16th March, just ahead of the national closure of schools due to coronavirus, the newly formed school Earth Group planted spring and summer plants for everyone arriving at school to enjoy.
The growing pots, seed tray, compost, plants, canes, trowels, hand-forks and gardening gloves were purchased using some money from ‘Green Umbrella’ that the group had successfully applied for and received a grant from.
These plants are now growing at the front of school and are flourishing in the lovely weather.
Earth Group also planted some seeds that had been donated by one of the group members which are also starting to grow in a seed tray. Within the seeds are some sunflower plants which will soon be re-potted into individual containers so that they can grow tall, supported by canes.
Well done Earth Group for your very successful first planting activity and many thanks to ‘Green Umbrella’ for the very much appreciated grant!
