Groundworks Pals Of Parks (POP)
Groundwork Greater Manchester | Thursday 18 March 2021 | 0 Comments
Groundwork is a local charity that helps change places and lives for thousands of people across Cheshire, Lancashire and Merseyside.
We have an excellent track record of supporting young people and adults to make life changing decisions to improve their life skills, employment opportunities and create better outcomes for the people we support.
We are currently looking to engage with enthusiastic young people aged 11-25 who want to make a difference in their local community by participating in the Future Proofs Park programme. The Future Proof Parks Programme is a project created by Groundwork Uk and the Lottery Heritage Fund. The Future Proofs Park Programme will increase the confidence and motivation of young people to volunteer their time to preserve and maintain historic parks and heritage landscapes in their local area.
Future Proof Parks will help young volunteers by harnessing the energies and talents of young people and, through advice and training, encouraging them to support local heritage groups. This will support their own personal development and help them become role models to engage their peers in volunteering roles within their local communities.
What's in it for the young person?
- Great experience of working within their local green spaces
- Gain knowledge, skills and experience in conservation efforts
- Improve knowledge of their local parks and wildlife
- Improve life skills and make new friends
- Make a difference in their local community
