Feedback on BGU Donation: Ladybridge

Ladybridge Primary School: Eco Council and Community Collaborators | Friday 11 November 2022 | 0 Comments

We are very grateful for the funding we received from Bolton Green Umbrella, in support of Ladybridge Primary School's Eco Council. We've used this money to buy new litter picking equipment, for our team. Our Eco-Council regularly use this equipment to litter pick around the school grounds, and also into the local community. The new equipment enables our Eco-Council to keep our local area clean and tidy.

In addition to this, we used some of the grant, to fund our Eco-Council visiting the recycling centre, in Manchester. At the centre, the children learnt so much about the process our waste goes through, and why it is so important. The children took part in different sorting activities and discussed which objects belonged in each bin. The children all wore the correct personal protective equipment, and went on a tour around the centre - this is where all the plastic, metals and glass waste is separated using different processes. The Eco-Council are now keen to continue the recycling process, in our school!

We have future plans, to buy some gardening equipment, and seeds, to start a growing area in school.

Thanks again,
