BGU Grant F'back 2024 Gt Lever Connected

Thank-you for the BGU grant, and we found the application very easy to understand and complete.
On our Eco Haven Allotment we have begun the process of installing the nature pond, the weather has not been helpful but the grant we have gratefully received has allowed us to purchase garden lime for soil lining on site and membrane for the pond,  1 ton of topsoil for levelling the ground around the site and .20 pallets have been purchased and used to erect a fence around the site and for the hire of a Groundwork rotavator.

Unfortunately, the pond is not yet completed as the weather is making it difficult but we persevere and work will be completed in the coming weeks.

This new pond and surrounding shrubs and plants will be a natural haven for insects and birds once the pond has been established with a settled water Ph we will be introducing frog spawn, which once they hatch and mature will ensure a continuous presence.

Our volunteers are super excited about the project and are eager to see the final work when completed as this is the first of many projects that we aim to build on Eco Haven to establish a corner of sanctuary for everyone to enjoy by volunteering or simply enjoying the peace and tranquillity.

Once the pond and surrounding garden is completed, and weather permitting we be inviting local residents onto the site and we will pass on the feedback.
