Michael and the team there are absolutely thrilled to have been given the grant and want to say a big thank you to you.

We have purchased soil, plants, shrubs and bulbs to renovate an area of the grounds that has been neglected over the last few years due to a lack of funds.
It has transformed the site, which has been neglected, into a space that can be appreciated by the users of the site. With the choice of shrubs/plants we have used, we hope to attract more wildlife into the area.  This area is now a pleasant place to sit for those people who may just want to come and read their newspaper or book.

This has given the volunteers a real boost as it is something we have wanted to tackle for a while.  It makes all the effort we put into keeping this area neat and tidy worthwhile.  This grant has given us the  opportunity to transform this area from a bit of an eyesore into a really lovely section of the garden.

All the members have commented that this has transformed this section of the garden.  It can be seen by all the users of the park and the children’s play area.  If it attracts more wildlife, then it can only benefit the whole of the park area.

Locals who use the park and the playground have stopped to ask what we were doing and have commented what a difference it has made to that section of the garden. Hopefully, if it does attract a wider variety of birds, butterflies and insects, this will be something that will be of interest to more people in the local area.
