Corson Street allotments was created as lockdown began March 2020 on a piece of land that is situated at the back street area of Corson Street and Fylde Street East, South Bolton. This spare ground is a renowned fly tipping area and well known to the council for regular reports to clear.
A couple of residents of Corson Street started the project digging out heavy roots, clearing decades worth of litter that was buried on the site. We have had an idea to make this into a residents allotment area which will include raised vegetable beds with potatoes, onions, runner beans, tomatoes including herbs. Going forward we can also look into donating to local food banks.
We regularly meet up to maintain the area and still continue to prepare for what vision we have. Please do not hesitate to contact if you would like to volunteer.
