Thank-you so much for the grant from BGU
We found the application process very easy. We also knew that support was available at Bolton Green Umbrella if we needed it.
We have purchased a variety of fruit bushes, plants and seeds (flowers and vegetables) to allow us to grow more of our own produce this year. We also purchased some additional soil.
We have recently made some additional raised beds (using recycled wood) and we used the money to purchase soil to fill More.....
Daisy Hill Cricket Club Community Garden
We are a new community garden group that has cleared a piece of waste ground into a lovely relaxing space that is open to everyone. Whether you are a keen gardener, a novice who wants to share your passion for gardening or you just want to meet new people and drop in for a cup of tea and a chat, you'll be made welcome.
We have developed the area into sections for growing fruit and veg, flowers and children's area. We have a beautiful section with 'chatty bench' seating where people can drop in, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity in the garden. We are constantly looking to develop the garden further and we are learning all the time.
There's always jobs to be done throughout the year, so if you fancy getting involved, then feel free to come along and volunteer with us.
We are open all year round and everyone is welcome to drop in and see what we are about, get involved or just pop in for a chat.
