High Street clean-up fund: HERA

HERA (Halliwell Environmental Ramblers Association) | Monday 08 February 2021 | 0 Comments

With the assistance of BGU and the £200 donation from the High Street Clean-up fund we have been able to continue activities on Seven Acres on a twice weekly basis. We have undertaken several conservation tasks and been involved in a 'big litter pick' onsite making a difference for the parks users. The chief task has been the hedgelaying which not only provides a living barrier between the meadows and the river but also creates a valuable habitat for wildlife and a safe corridor for movement. The concept of family volunteering has been introduced to allow small family groups to enjoy voluntary work and conservation related activities. All our activities are in a Covid secure environment with all precautions taken. Our activities can be seen on the Hera Breightmet page and the Friends of Seven Acres Facebook group.
