Group update: Harper Green

Harper Green Lovely Environment Group | Friday 05 March 2021 | 0 Comments

I've had more contacts this last year about build up's of street litter in the Lever Edge area. Also residents have been suggesting how street cleaning is limited due to parked cars and whether the machines can really get to all the nooks and crannies on the pavements and the side of the roads. Flytipping at various points has needed removing. Sometimes this is small enough to be bagged, sometimes not as it's more furniture in pieces sized.

When Monday at 10am is a free time I can get to Lever Edge litter pickers who meet regualrly in the area there in order to make the streets and walkways much nicer for everyone.
Thanks to all involved in litter picking and also the more strenuous work of lifting heavier items. Two active residents even on a safety rope travessed a bank at the Dell to clean it up.
