The Daisy Hill in Bloom regulars were delighted to be joined by dozens of extra volunteers for our Big Spring Clean. We collected around 30 bags of rubbish in the space of an hour. Thanks to the Co-op for their support with publicity and biscuits, to the Friends of Eatock Lodge for the loan of extra equipment, and to St James Church for their hospitality and cups of tea - and thanks of course to all the volunteers young and old who took part.
Daisy Hill in Bloom
Since 2008 Daisy Hill in Bloom has been working to improve our environment and encourage people to get involved. Each year we've had a small grant from the Town Council to purchase plants and other supplies. All the hard work is done by volunteers.
We're always keen to recruit more volunteers who can help out occasionally, with planting, weeding, litter picking or by adopting a tub or planter and water it in dry periods over the summer. If you would like to help, please contact us.
Daisy Hill in Bloom is affiliated to the Westhoughton Community Network.

News
With the help of a £100 grant from Green Umbrella, the Daisy Hill in Bloom volunteers have re-built two of their raised beds on Lower Leigh Road. Rotting timber edges have been replaced with long-lived hollow concrete ones which will also serve as containers for small bedding plants. It was hard work, but we're hopeful it will last for a long time!
Daisy Hill in Bloom has been presented with a Certificate of Achievement by Westhoughton Town Council.
