Feedback on BGU donation: North Bolton

Thank-you to Bolton Green Umbrella for the donation that enabled us to buy bought some hoops to hold open the green bags we use while litterpicking, and which make the job quicker and easier.

We meet as a group every Sunday morning - except when this has not been possible because of Covid - and litterpick from 9.00 - 10.30am. We work in a different area each week, although certain "grot spots" need regular revisits! We also go along and help newly formed litterpicking groups all across Bolton, not just in the north of the town. To-date we have collected approximately 35,000 bags of litter and fly-tipped rubbish !! 

We are a very large group now, with lots of "lone pickers" who are part of The Litter Pickers of North Bolton but don't join our Sunday morning group picks because it is not convenient for them. Instead, this army of volunteers keep their local areas and parks as litter-free as possible. 

Because we now have so many people involved with the group we needed these additional hoops - so THANK-YOU SO MUCH to Bolton Green Umbrella!
