Friends of Sunnyside Park are a group who are working to bring life back to the park which has sadly been badly neglected over the years, the grass has over grown the paths, the borders are full of weeds and in need of some new plants. We are planning on cleaning the kiddies playground and all the cobbled pavement is over grown. We have restored the Astra turf for the kids playing 5 aside. So it is ongoing work.
We meet Weekly on Mondays between 9.00am and 12.00.

We have purchased a trolley to help with transporting our new tools to the park, also plants & new edging stones.
We have done the path & border In the park, this was very over grown and not easy to walk down, we now have it under control & have made significant improvements so that you can use the path. We are at the moment trying to replace the edging stones that are broken. And we have planted some new plants

In response to your enquiry, I am delighted to inform you of the excellent work we were able to achieve with the grant funding. With the purchase of an assortment of equipment we were able to gain access to overgrown areas of Sunny-side park and surrounding ginnels that had been stubborn to deal with .
Our initiative to clean the park was a great success initially, but due to funding cut backs the park is running into disrepair more so with the closing of More.....
