We are able to celebrate a major success from our Crime Prevention Whatsapp this week.
We have over one thousand Over Hulton subscribers to our OHIO crime prevention Whatsapp. This week we are able to acknowledge a major success . The Whatsapp combined with diligent and determined work from our police officers has seen the conviction of a regular offender. This is from the Bolton News sent in by our OHIO main admin, "On August 10th last year we passed CCTV footage from one of our groups to the police. Taken from a ring doorbell camera it showed a male attempting to burgle a house on Newbrook Rd. The male had committed other offences and was identified from that footage. When arrested the male admitted the offences and this week at court Wesley Trevett (42) received a prison sentence of 2yrs 3mths. Prosecutor Philip Hall said “a smart doorbell caught him approach the house, pull a mask over his mouth and try to use the door handle. He left when the door did not open.” Sentencing Trevett to two years and three months in prison judge Gilbert said "Even if it could be suspended, it would be inappropriate to do so. There must be an immediate custodial sentence." Without that footage he may not have been identified and brought to justice, well done to everyone and thank you to all involved."
